GLADECK, Joseph M., Jr., a Representative from Montgomery County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., August 2, 1950; graduated, Wissahickon High School, 1968; B.A., political science, Temple University, 1972; served, Pennsylvania National Guard (1972-1978); staff, United States Congressman Larry Coughlin; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1978; reelected to 10 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Commitee to Investigate the Crisis in Staffing of Welfare Offices in the Commonwealth (1984); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2000); consultant, Pennsylvania Reapportionment Commission (2001).
