EICHELBERGER, Frederick, a Representative from York County; born, October 24, 1783 in Carroll County, Md.; colonel, Pennsylvania Militia (1813, War of 1812); farmer; elected as a Democrat-Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1800-1801, 1801-1802 and 1802-1803 terms; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1803); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1806); reelected to the House for the 1815-1816 and 1816-1817 terms; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1817-1818 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1819-1822); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1824); appointed, register and recorder, York County (1829); died, September 5, 1836 in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland; interred, Franklin Church Cemetery, Clear Springs, York County, Pennsylvania.
