SHEARER, Martin, a Representative from York County; born, March 11, 1787 in Codorus Township, York County, Pa.; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Codorus Township (1830-1840); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837, 1837-1838 and 1838-1839 terms; died, December 25, 1865 in West Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, York County, Pennsylvania.
