FISHER, George, a Representative from York County; born, February 26, 1781 in Baltimore County (now Carroll County), Md.; colonel, 25th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1829, War of 1812); farmer; blacksmith; justice of the peace, Codorus Township (26 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1827-1828, 1828-1829, 1829-1830 and 1830-1831 terms; died, February 20, 1848 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.
