PETRARCA, Joseph Anthony, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born in Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pa., December 20, 1928; graduated, Vandergrift High School; graduated, Carnegie College, 1955; served, United States Army (Korean War); medical technologist; steelworker; secretary, Pennsylvania State Highway and Bridge Authority; appointed, commissioner, Pennsylvania State Transportation Commission; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1972; reelected to serve 10 more consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Interstate Cooperation (1979-1980); appointed, Local Government Commission (1987-1988); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1994); died, March 13, 1995 in Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
