BELL, Greenwood, a Representative from Centre and Clearfield Counties; born, November 20, 1785 in Dauphin County, Pa.; owner, gristmill and sawmill; farmer; elected, commissioner and clerk, Clearfield County (1820-1821); elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1823); elected, sheriff, Clearfield County (1822-1826); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1825-1826 and 1826-1827 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1827-1828 term; unsuccessful reelection to the House (1836); died, September 8, 1860 in Bell Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania; interred, McClure Cemetery, Curwensville, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.
