PETRIKEN, Henry, a Representative from Centre and Clearfield Counties; born, June 11, 1797 in Bellefonte, Centre County, Pa.; printer; publisher, The Bellfonte Patriot (1821-1823, 1825-1832); appointed, clerk, Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth (1823); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1826, 1831-1835); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1828-1829, 1829-1830 and 1830-1831 terms; director, Bald Eagle and Spring Creek Navigation Company (1835-1838); appointed, Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth (1839-1842, 1845-1848); superintendent, Inclined Plane, Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad (1849); died, November 8, 1849 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
