BERTOLET, Daniel A., Sr., a Representative from Berks and Schuylkill Counties; born, June 11, 1781 in Oley Township, Berks County, Pa; engaged, farming and lumbering; poet; minister; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1824); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1825-1826, 1826-1827 and 1827-1828 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1828-1832); died, September 20, 1868 in Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Bertolet Union Cemetery, Oley Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
