WISTER, John, Jr., a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, 1776 in Germantown (now Philadelphia), Philadelphia County, Pa.; farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833 term; director, Chestnut Hill Railroad Company (1848); died, December 10, 1862 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, “Vernon,” Wister family cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; removed to Germantown Preparatory Meeting of Friends Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
