WYNKOOP, John Wanshaer, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, September 9, 1794 in Newtown, Bucks County, Pa.; farmer; scrivener; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1822, 1823); elected, delegate, Internal Improvement Convention (1825): elected as an Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1835-1836 term; died, July 1, 1837 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
