McCLURE, Robert, a Representative from Lycoming, McKean, Potter and Tioga Counties; born, February 6, 1772 in Cumberland County, Pa.; graduated, Dickinson College; corporal, Pennsylvania Militia (War of 1812); lawyer (1795-1829); elected, treasurer, Lycoming County (1801-1804); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1822-1823 term; reelected to the House for the 1824-1825 and 1826-1827 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1827-1829); died while in office of the Senate, December 13, 1829 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Burial Ground, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
