COLEGROVE, Jonathan, a Representative from Lycoming, McKean, Potter and Tioga Counties; born, July 25, 1782 in Norwich, New London County, Ct.; lieutenant, Pennsylvania Militia (1812, War of 1812); attended, Plainfield Academy; teacher, Catskill Academy; farmer; surveyor; appointed, commissioner, McKean County (1826-1827); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1827-1828 term; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Norwich, Pa. (1828-1840s); appointed, treasurer, McKean County; died, April 11, 1872 in Norwich, McKean County, Pennsylvania; interred, Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove, McKean County, Pennsylvania.
