DICKERSON, Joshua, a Representative from Washington County; born, May 3, 1781 in Washington County, Pa.; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Washington County (1809); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1810-1811, 1811-1812, 1812-1813, 1813-1814, 1814-1815, 1816-1817 and 1817-1818 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1818-1824); appointed, Secretary, State Land Office (1824-1830); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); died, April 30, 1853 in Morris Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
