HANNA, James, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, February 2, 1806 in Philadelphia County, Pa.; lawyer; unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Philadelphia County (1831); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1833); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1838-1839); unsuccessful campaign, clerk of the Orphans’ Court, Philadelphia (1839); died, November 6, 1888 in Eureka, Humbolt County, California; interred, Myrtle Grove Memorial Cemetery, Eureka, Humbolt County, California.
