HERGESHEIMER, Joseph, a Representative from Philadelphia County; February 21, 1779 in Germantown (now Philadelphia), Philadelphia County, Pa.; engaged, real estate; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827, 1827-1828 and 1828-1829 terms; gubernatorial appointee, Commission to Survey and Incorporate a Railroad from Norristown to Philadelphia (1831-1832); elected, school director, Germantown (1837-1838); died, January 21, 1838 in Baltimore County, Maryland; interred, Market Square Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
