HIGH, William Penn, a Representative from Berks County; born, January 14, 1786 in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pa.; brigadier general, Reading Cavalry, Pennsylvania Milita (33 years, War of 1812); farmer; elected, auditor, Berks County (1815-1818, 1835-1838); elected, commissioner, Berks County (1816-1819); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1831-1832 term; elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); elected, burgess, Reading (1843-1844); associate judge, Berks County (1846-1851); died, March 29, 1851 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hoch Cemetery, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
