IHRIE, Peter, Jr., a Representative from Northampton, Pike and Wayne Counties; born, February 3, 1796 in Easton, Northampton County, Pa.; graduated, Dickinson College, 1815; brigadier general, Pennsylvania Militia (1845); lawyer (1818-1871); elected, auditor, Northampton County (1824); trustee, Lafayette College (1826-1827); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827 and 1827-1828 terms; elected, United States Congress (1829-1833); director, Easton Bank; died, March 29, 1871 in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Easton Cemetery, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
