WOOLVERTON, Stephen, a Representative from Erie and Warren Counties; born, 1784 in Hampshire County, Va. (now WV); commissary, First Brigade, Sixteenth Division, Pennsylvania Militia (1812, War or 1812); private, 4th Regiment, Capt. Herron’s Company, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1813, War of 1812); elected, sheriff, Erie County (1817-1819, 1823-1825); elected, commissioner, Erie County (1818-1822); elected, as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1825-1826 term; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1826-1827 and 1827-1828 terms; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1828); coal inspector, Cleveland, Oh. (1836, 1839); died, April 1, 1874 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.
