RIDDELL, John, a Representative from Erie County; born, circa 1800 in Pennsylvania; A.M., Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson College); lawyer; treasurer, Active Fire Company, Erie (1826-1832); elected, as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1830-1831 and 1831-1832 terms; publisher, Erie Gazette (1835-1837); died, July 4, 1837 in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Erie Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
