MATHEYS, John, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, 1780; captain, Montgomery County Cavalry, Pennsylvania Militia (25 years); farmer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827, 1827-1828, 1828-1829 and 1829-1830 terms; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1831-1835); died, August 23, 1837 in Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lower Merion Baptist Church Cemetery, Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
