LONGAKER, Henry, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, February 4, 1792 in Parker Ford, Chester County, Pa.; private, 65th Regiment, Sixth Company, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); carpenter; farmer; justice of the peace (1825); elected, sheriff, Montgomery County (1831-1834); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837, 1837-1838 and 1838-1839 terms; director, The People’s Bank of Montgomery County (1841); inn keeper; director, Perkiomen and Sumneytown Turnpike Company (1846); elected, associate judge, Montgomery County (1851-1861); director, Perkiomen Railroad Company (1867-1872); died, November 2, 1872 in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Green Tree Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Oaks, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
