COPE, Michael, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, January 1, 1770;  farmer; elected, commissioner, Montgomery County (1815); appointed, treasurer, Montgomery County (1819); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1823-1824, 1824-1825, 1825-1826 and 1826-1827 terms; died, January 24, 1849 in Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
