YOST, Jacob Senewell, a Representative from Montgomery County; born, July 29, 1801 in Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pa.; attended, Fourth Street Academy; farmer; publisher and editor, La Fayette Aurora; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837, 1837-1838 and 1838-1839 terms; elected, United States Congress (1843-1847); appointed, United States Marshall, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1857-1861); president, Buck Mountain Coal Company; president, Pottstown Gas Company; died, March 7, 1872 in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Edgewood Cemetery, Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
