MARLIN, Ralph, a Representative from Crawford, Erie, Mercer, Venango and Warren Counties; born, April 3, 1777 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pa.; graduated, Dickinson College, 1796; colonel, 22nd Infantry, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1815, War of 1812); brigade inspector and keeper of arsenal, 2nd Brigade, 16th Division, Pennsylvania Militia (1823-1826); attorney (1800-1826); manager, Erie & Waterford Turnpike Company (1805-1809); surveyor, Holland Land Company (1807); elected, auditor, Crawford County (1811-1812); unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Crawford County (1812); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1815-1816, 1816-1817 and 1817-1818 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1818-1819 term; trustee, Allegheny College; appointed, deputy Attorney-General, Crawford County (1821); died, August 21, 1826 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
