FOSTER, William, a Representative from Crawford and Venango Counties; born, circa 1774; private, Robinson’s Company, 134th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1813, War of 1812); construction contractor; engaged, sawmill; elected, commissioner, Crawford County (1816-1819); trustee, Allegheny College (1817); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1823, 1826); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1825-1826 term; elected, burgess, Meadville (1826); died, December 28, 1844 in Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greendale Cemetery Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
