CARVER, Samuel, a Representative from Philadelphia City; born, 1758; lawyer; elected, common council, Philadelphia County (1796); elected, commissioner, Philadelphia County (1800-1803); elected, elections Inspector, New Market, Philadelphia County (1801); elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1803-1804 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1804); reelected to the House as a Federalist for the 1805-1806, 1806-1807 and 1807-1808 terms; died prior to taking the oath, October 22, 1807 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Friends Arch Street Meeting House Burial Ground, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
