MURRAY, Thomas, Jr., a Representative from Columbia, Northumberland and Union Counties; born, 1770 in Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pa.; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1812); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1813-1814 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1814-1818); elected, United States Congress (1821-1823); died, August 26, 1823 in Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chillisquaque Cemetery, Mexico, Montour County, Pennsylvania.
