LAUMAN, William, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, June 18, 1771 in Middletown, Lancaster County (now Dauphin County), Pa.; hatter; unsuccessful campaign, director of the poor, Dauphin County (1820); elected, auditor, Dauphin County (1822-1825); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827, 1827-1828 and 1828-1829 terms; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Middletown (1829-1832); died, December 13, 1832 in Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Peters Cemetery, Middletown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
