ROBERTS, John, a Representative from Dauphin County; born, October 3, 1787 in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pa.; sergeant, 1st Regiment, First Brigade, Pennsylvania Milita (1812-1814, War of 1812); colonel, 9th Division, First Brigade, Pennsylvania Milita (1828); attorney (1812-1873); surveyor; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1827-1828 term; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1828-1829 term; appointed, prothonotary, Dauphin County (1830-1836); died, February 1, 1873 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
