JONES, Jonathan, a Representative from Chester County; born, January 18, 1785 in Churchtown, Lancaster County, Pa.; owner, General Wayne Tavern; owner, Green Tree Tavern; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1821-1822 and 1822-1823 term; elected, sheriff, Chester County (1826); died, November 4, 1867 in Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Exton, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
