MENOUGH, John, Jr., a Representative from Chester County; born, 1758 in New London Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; landowner; elected, commissioner, Chester County (1799); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1809, 1811, 1813); unsuccessful campaign, auditor, Chester County (1810); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1812-1813, 1814-1815, 1815-1816, 1816-1817 and 1817-1818 terms; trustee, New London Academy; died, August 19, 1833 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New London Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
