PUGH, Jesse, a Representative from Chester County; born, March 1, 1772 in Nottingham, Chester County, Pa.; wheat farmer; elected, commissioner, Chester County (1820); elected, treasurer, Chester County (1823); elected as a National Republican / Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1830); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1844); died, October 16, 1847 in Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Little Elk Friends Burying Ground, Hickory Hill, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
