McILVAINE, Abraham Robinson, a Representative from Chester County; born, August 14, 1804 in Ridley Township, Chester County, Pa.; farmer; elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; reelected to the House as a Whig for the 1837-1838 term; elected, United States Congress (1843-1849); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Congress (1848); engaged, iron business; died, August 22, 1863 in Wallace Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Caln Orthodox Friends Burying Ground, Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania; removed to Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
