POTTS, David, Jr., a Representative from Chester County; born, November 27, 1794 in Chester County, Pa.; served, Pennsylvania Militia (War of 1812); attended, Pottstown Preparatory School; ironmaster; owner, Jefferson Furnace; owner, Warwick Furnace; elected, auditor, Chester County (1815); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1823-1824, 1824-1825 and 1825-1826 terms; elected, United States Congress (1831-1839); died, June 1, 1863 in Warwick Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania; interred, Potts Family Cemetery, Coventryville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
