NIXON, Samuel, a Representative from Fayette County; born, May 9, 1789 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa.; farmer; owner and operator, carding machine; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1822-1823, 1824-1825 and 1825-1826 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1823, 1826); appointed, associate judge, Fayette County (1828-1841); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1845); died, May 28, 1859 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Tent Presbyterian Cemetery, Fairchance, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
