NICHOLSON, James Witter, a Representative from Fayette County; born, November 4, 1799 in Springhill, Fayette County, Pa.; farmer; elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1826, 1829); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1826-1827 and 1827-1828 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1828-1829 term; died, December 2, 1832 in New Geneva (now Nicholson Township), Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Old Stone Church Cemetery, Nicholson Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
