GILMORE, David, a Representative from Fayette County; born, 1786 in Pennsylvania; private, light dragoons, Pennsylvania Militia (1812-1813, War of 1812); farmer; elected, delegate, State Democratic Convention (1828, 1829, 1832); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1829, 1833); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1832-1833 term; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Masontown, Pa. (1837-1842); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); died, April 30, 1847 in German Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; Oak Grove Cemetery, South Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
