KELLY, James M., a Representative from Armstrong, Indiana and Jefferson Counties; born, circa 1785 in Westmoreland County, Pa.; read law under George Armstrong; school teacher (1802); lawyer (1810-1820); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1815-1816, 1816-1817 and 1817-1818 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1818); died, September 13, 1820 in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
