LAWSON, David, a Representative from Armstrong, Indiana and Jefferson Counties; born, November 21, 1777 in County Donegal, Ireland; surveyor and land agent, Holland Land Company; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Kittanning, Pa. (1810); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1815, 1816); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1824-1825 term; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1825-1826, 1826-1827 and 1828-1829 term; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1835); died, June 6, 1839 in Madison Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lawsonham Cemetery, Rimersburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
