GLEIM, Charles, a Representative from Lebanon County; born, April 7, 1775 in New Holland, Lancaster County, Pa.; saddle maker; hotel proprietor; elected, sheriff, Lebanon County (1813-1815); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, sheriff, Lebanon County (1819, 1822): elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1824-1825 and 1825-1826 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1827); elected, coroner, Dauphin County (1842-1843); died, July 30, 1843 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
