KIRK, Jacob, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, May 16, 1779 in Calvert, Cecil County, Md.; real estate developer; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1823-1824 and 1825-1826 terms; postmaster, United States Postal Service, Kirks Mills (1837); died, August 21, 1841 in Kirks Mills (now Little Britain Township), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Eastland Friends Burial Ground, Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
