HIBSHMAN, Henry, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, October 11, 1774;  general, Pennsylvania Militia (War of 1812); attorney; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1809, 1810, 1812, 1813, 1814, 1816); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1811-1812 term; reelected to the House as a Democrat for the 1815-1816 and 1821-1822 terms; recorder, Lancaster County (1824-1830); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1832-1836); trustee, Franklin College (now Franklin and Marshall College) (1837); died, May 24, 1859 in Pennsylvania; interred, Hibshman Cemetery, Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
