LIGHTNER, Joel L., a Representative from Lancaster County; born, June 19, 1779 in Pennsylvania; farmer; elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1812-1813, 1813-1814, 1815-1816, 1816-1817 and 1817-1818 terms; unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Lancaster County (1821); director, People’s National Bank; died, January 17, 1850 in Leacock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, All Saints Episcopal County, Paradise, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
