LANDIS, David, a Representative from Lancaster Couty; born, May 9, 1761 in Lancaster County, Pa.; private, 8th Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1777-1782, Revolutionary War); farmer, unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1817, 1818, 1823); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1824-1825 term; died, April 7, 1852 in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Landis-Herman Cemetery, Stevens, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
