McCAMANT, Dr. John, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, December 25, 1783 in Chester County, Pa.; physician; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1824-1825 term; unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1826); reelected to the House for the 1827-1828 term; died, November 5, 1862 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Honey Brook Presbyterian Cemetery, Honey Brook Borough, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
