BACHMAN, Jacob, a Representative from Lancaster County; born, April 25, 1782 in Pequea Township, Lancaster County, Pa.; cabinet maker; farmer; elected, director of the poor, Lancaster County (1819); unsuccessful campaign for reelection, director of the poor, Lancaster County (1820); elected as a Federalist to the Pennsylvania House of Representative for the 1823-1824 term; died, May 10, 1849 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery, Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
