Porter, Esq.; attorney (1827-1889); appointed, assistant prothonotary, Pennsylvania Supreme Court (1828-1830); solicitor, Lancaster County (1830-1850); elected, delegate, Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention (1837-1838); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1838-1839 term; elected, president judge, court of common pleas, Lancaster County (1851-1870); died, March 5, 1889 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
