CUNNINGHAM, Jeremiah E., a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, March 15, 1796; private, 1st Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia (1814, War of 1812); merchant; unsuccessful campaign, sheriff, Huntingdon County (1824); elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; reelected to the House as a Whig for the 1837-1838 and 1838-1839 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1839); commissioner, Hollidaysburg Water Company (1841); elected, burgess, Hollidaysburg (1842); elected, town council, Hollidaysburg (1843-1845); appointed, prothonotary, clerk of Orphans’ court, Quarter Sessions and Oyer and Terminer, Huntingdon County (1846); ironmaster; died, October 26, 1847 in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
