CRAWFORD, James, a Representative from Huntingdon County; born, February of 1809; graduated, Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson College); attorney (1833-1840); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1835); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1836-1837 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1837); died, February 18, 1840 in West Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.
