RUHL, Philip, a Representative from Union County; born, April 28, 1790 in Berks County, Pa.; lieutenant, Captain Bergstresser’s Company, Pennsylvania Milita (War of 1812); farmer; elected as an Anti-Mason to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1829-1830, 1830-1831 and 1831-1832 terms; justice of the peace (1837-1877); associate judge, Union County (1855-1860); died, September 10, 1879 in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania; interred, Dreisbach United Church of Christ Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
